The Follow 13 Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition of around fifteen works by photographer Thomas Balaÿ dedicated to succulent plants and taken from his book “Succulents – Plant Design” published by Ulmer.
These plants come from the most beautiful botanical collections in France, from the botanical garden of the city of Nancy, to the nurseries of Kuentz including the sumptuous Cactuserais of Creisméas.
A true masterpiece of nature, they bear witness to their ingenuity and biodiversity. Their ability to store water in their fleshy leaves allows them to live in arid environments, creating surprisingly varied silhouettes and patterns.
Each species is a work of art in itself, shaped by millions of years of evolution.
From the minimalist sculptures of cacti to the geometric patterns of agaves, each succulent tells a unique story of adaptation and functional beauty.
Beyond their remarkable aesthetic, they also remind us of the importance of adaptability in nature. Their ability to thrive in demanding climates invites us to rethink our relationship with the environment. These plants show us that it is possible to coexist harmoniously with our planet.
